Dreamin' Big

Last night we went to bed at 10:30, which never happens. I wanted to fall asleep early so there was a chance I would wake up at 6 a.m. to work out.

A few hours later, I woke up excitedly and asked a fast-asleep Brad if it was too late for us to go work out. He (half-asleep) looked at his cell phone and told me it was only 2 a.m. Yes! I love when that happens. More sleep.

Flash forward to 5:30 a.m. Brad has just awoken from a crazy dream. In the dream, he is on a motorcycle. Dollar bills are falling from the sky so he catches them. Then a fleet of policemen start chasing him for grabbing the money. So he does what he has to do to get away -- takes off his clothes to become invisible. (Just in the dream.)But he doesn't stop there. He gets to Lake Alatoona (in Georgia), runs with the money in hand and dives into the lake. Unfortunately, the policemen can still see the money so his hiding spot is given away. Brad wakes up from his terrifying dream.

Meanwhile, I'm having a dream about "Indiana Jones" who looks, talks, and acts suspiciously like James Bond. He was in an old house being held captive by a villain. The bad guy gave him a choice. He could a.) stay there, or b.) take a 20 second head start and leave in the bad guy's Mercedes Benz. So "Indiana" chose the second half of the deal, only to find out that the villain ran at lighting speed. I realized this right away, and just as Brad was waking up from his dream, I yelled "But that's not fair!"

Brad started laughing his head off so I woke up. We had a good laugh and shared our crazy dreams with each other. We opted to go back to bed to savor our last 20 minutes before waking up to work out. It didn't end up happening anyway. We slept all the way until 7:40. But at least it was a fun night!

Bragging rights

Bradio and I went thrift store shopping on Saturday and got the greatest deals!

*Cute twisty vase-$2
*Brad's brown penny loafers for church-$8
*Cute, businessy heels-$4 (the original price sticker is still on them so I don't even think they've ever been worn.)
*Movies-$3 each. Hitch, LOTR (Brad's FAVORITE), and Hot Rod (not pictured because it ended up being a blank cd). Regardless, for a total of $23 we found lots of treasures!

The rest of the weekend was wonderful as well. We played doubles tennis on Friday and went to a pizza buffet. Saturday was spent thrift shopping, watching March Madness games, decorating our bookshelves and playing some more tennis. And Sunday, we went to ward choir. Very fun weekend with my hubby!

I don't know how long I'll be able to say this for so I want to note that I am tied for first in my family March Madness bracket group. (I won't mention that my brother in law who is also in first has TWO brackets...cough...cheater...cough) JK Aaron ;) I probably won't stay there for long because one of my final four teams is already gone. I have Duke going all the way so we'll see what happens. I'd be happy if Duke won but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE it if BYU came out on top! So really I want someone who put BYU to win the bracket challenge.

Weddiquette

I picked up a free bridal guide yesterday for fun and started flipping through it. There was an article about wedding etiquette. It mentioned three "don'ts." They are as follows:

1. Don't create a Facebook group to gather your friends' addresses.
2. Don't put your registration on the announcement.
3. Don't forget to send thank you notes.

Wow. After reading that I started on a guilt trip. I broke every single wedding etiquette rule. Here are my honest thoughts (and a little justification maybe)--

1. I don't think it's necessary to call every single person on your guest list to request their addresses if you can ask over social media. What if you got a new phone and don't have all your friends' numbers? I'd rather not forget anyone!

2. Although I now feel guilty about sharing our gift registry information, I still appreciate when I get a little insert telling me where a friend is registered. That way I know I'm getting them something they want!

3. I absolutely don't have an excuse for number three. I'm scared that my neglect in this area classifies me as a selfish Bridezilla. Brad and I wrote our thank you notes. We just didn't send them out because we moved to Washington, needed more stamps, then moved to Utah. Our invites just sat in a bag and never got sent. After several months, I decided that it would be rude to send them out so late. Now I'm thinking maybe it's a "better late than never" situation.

So, this is my confession and apology for apparently having bad wedding etiquette. I didn't realize this until recently since I work in marketing for Artco and spend a lot of time reading wedding blogs and looking through invitation catalogs. There are other little things I didn't do, such as give my bridesmaids a present. Sorry, ladies! I feel so much more educated now (two years later and with a job in the wedding industry). I mainly wanted to say that I love and appreciate every single person who was a part of our special day. Thank you!

As a final note, I am feeling inspired to create a wedding collage of all our favorite details of our wedding! After viewing tons of inspiration boards at work every day, I want to create my own. Stay tuned!

Love, Mrs. Terry
